Nespresso Coffee-Making Essentials
I’ve been sharing my coffee drinks on Instagram and have been receiving a lot of questions about the things I used.
This isn’t a sponsored post, but I wanted to share that Nespresso is running their spring sale until April 15, 2021. You can get $100 worth of capsules with the purchase of select machines. This is a way better deal than the $20 credit I got a couple of years ago!
Coffee machine
We use the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe and love it! This machine accepts the Vertuo capsules and will not work with the original line.
Milk frother
After using the coffee machine for a few months, we got the Nespresso Aeroccino 3 milk frother to complete our beverages. I mostly make lattes, while Will makes regular coffee so I use it at least once a day. It makes the milk frothing process so easy. You just pour in the milk and press the button! I recommend getting the machine + Aeroccino bundle if you’re thinking about getting a milk frother.
Glasses
I used mason jar cups in the beginning, but upgraded to Bodum glasses later. Mason jars may crack with hot beverages and I didn’t want to risk it. The Bodum glasses we bought are double-walled so you won’t feel the heat while holding it. I got the Pavina in 12oz for my cold drinks and Will got the Bistro set in 12oz for his coffees.
Reusable straws
If you’re into cold drinks like me, reusable straws are a must! Besides being eco-friendly, using a straw minimizes the risk of coffee stains on your teeth. Here’s similar set to the one I use.
Syrup and pump
I bought my vanilla syrup directly at a Starbucks store (about $12 CAD) and the pump on Amazon. After a lot of research into which pump works best with the Starbucks syrup bottle, I’ll save you the trouble and link it right here. You just have to cut the end to your desired length. The exact pump I bought appears to be sold out right now, but this looks like the same one in a different colour.
Milk
We love Earth’s Own Barista Edition Oat Milk and it’s the only one we use. It gets especially creamy and frothy once you shake and put it through the milk frother. It costs a little more than the regular version, but for me, it’s still worth it if I calculate the cost of purchasing coffee elsewhere.
My favourite Nespresso capsules:
Bianco Leggero
Double Espresso Scuro
Hazelnut Muffin
For matcha lattes and dirty matchas:
For matcha drinks, I use Genuine Tea’s Kato Matcha Summer Harvest powder with their whisk and scoop. I use this matcha bowl and whisk stand set from Amazon.
